With reference to the recent incident in which an assailant used a handgun to ambush and shoot two women in Thung Yang Daeng District, Pattani Province, preliminary assessments indicate that the act is unlikely to have arisen from retaliatory conflict among local civilians. Authorities are currently awaiting the results of a forensic examination of the weapon involved, along with ongoing investigations into possible motives and any underlying personal disputes. The case remains under active investigation, and conclusive findings are expected in the near future
